Just recently, I gave spotify a chance.. Only because I was going to see my daughter who has a account on spotify. So I started grabbing songs I liked and wanted to play for her. Ended up with 100 and noticed that any song I wanted to listen to after a month just gave me a 10 second sample.. :wtf:

Guess I didn't read that it is a TRIAL version for anybody wanting to use it and they cut you off if you don't pay for a account.. I sound petty and cheap but I have other ways to listen to music .. except for adding to my electric bill..:phones::whistle:
You can have a completely free account and still have many options.
These options are restricted when using a mobile device such as a phone. But if you install the Spotify app on a tablet or even a smart tv, you can listen to full albums. Even using your phone, you can create playlists and share them even with paying members. You just cannot listen to entire albums with a free account using your phone.

I think you might be looking at the features incorrectly and that playlist with full songs can still be accessed.
I get it. I don’t need Spotify either. I have thousands of records, cds, music files, etc… Even with all this, Spotify does have a nice purpose.

I may have to see what your talking about. Yes I just added the songs to my android since she has a bluetooth speaker we sit outside and go through songs we like.

To me it's more a collection of songs I added NOT complete albums.. I'll pick songs by groups I like and add them to my library.

I leave spotify off my computer and don't own a tablet.. I mentioned before, Audacity let's you record 500 hours of music off anything that has audio.

You have 3 choices to format them.. WAV MP3 and ?? can't recall the other. But my media library right now is 430 hours of selected songs.. FOR FREE!!

Those I can burn to CD's. It's great for compilation CD's of your favorite songs..

@BeatleMatt Funny story is she is a DJ and does parties and I'm a Club DJ from the old day's, but 5 years ago when we got in touch she wanted to hear my mixes so

I found out what she uses to play music through at parties.. A DJ Controller.. The new shit that I don't know how to use. I use turntables and vinyl to mix and can mix dual CD players.

So I asked her if she had anything to play cassettes on.. NOPE.. That's what I had all my mix stuff on so I sent her a dual cassette deck and a bunch of cassettes.

I got pictures of her holding up that relick and wondered if she would listen to them. But I ended up getting everything recorded on CD's. Sent her a bunch of comp. CD's

I made from my Audacity songs.

I'm getting that feeling that this is soooooooo old school to her that she has to be polite and drop hints to file share instead of CD's and all that old gear..

Thus.. wanted to make it simple and just share spotify songs off my cell phone with her.. :heheh:

Yes, well.. of course we hope she will listen to the cassettes. I’m sure she will for you.
Generally, waiting for a song to play is a chore for the kids today. Which is how some of us discovered music. By listening to albums without the ability or desire to skip songs.

I love the fact that Spotify continues to try to entice me by featuring shitty music performed by shitty personalities in ads and tries to shove down my ears horrible music playlists of artists I have never desired to listen to.

I'm a changed man about spotify.. My daughter put me on her account and since then we have created a playlist that is 14 hours and 28 mins. :heheh:

We tried a playlist that spotify recommended based on our song choices but some of those songs are poop.

I like how they set up to search out groups or songs that are similar to the ones you pick.

I remember before I got a subscription to Spotify, paying for it every month is great for me, you don't get any pop up ads when you pay and the price every month is not that bad..

Yesterday, just for fun, I made a playlist on Spotify of just four bands that are similar and deserving of being grouped together on one playlist for some reason.
It's a nine hour long playlist of some of my favorite songs from REO Speedwagon, Styx, Journey, and Foreigner.
What four groups would you put on a playlist like this?
