Discography

1984 The Red Hot Chili Peppers
1985 Freaky Styley
1987 The Uplift Mofo Party Plan
1989 Mother's Milk
1991 Blood Sugar Sex Magik
1995 One Hot Minute
1999 Californication
2002 By the Way
2006 Stadium Arcadium
2011 I'm with You
2016 The Getaway

I've dug these guys ever since I first heard them on Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik! I've bought everything in their catalog of music since and despite lineup changes, changes in style, etc. I haven't been disappointed with an album yet. Kiedis is a great vocalist and the music itself ranges from great, wild funk to laid back chillaxing melodies! I never understood the rap connotations these guys get because it's funk music at most for me! Anyway, this a thread for some Hot Chili Pepper love!

Here are my fav tracks:

I Could Have Lied
(my favorite track from them)

Aeroplane
(such an underrated funky fun song)

Breaking The Girl
(another underrated single)

Soul to Squeeze

The Zephyr Song

Good thread S&S! :grinthumb

I much prefer the slow melodic side of the RHCP's music, over the funk. And for that reason, By The Way is my favourite album of theirs. My favourite song from them is Dosed, which I find to be quite beautiful:

Thanks Sal! I agree their slow melodic side is awesome which is why my favorite song is I Could Have Lied! :grinthumb

Nice OP Sooty, I will stop there seeing I'm not a big fan, except I have to say Flea is one of the best rock bassists of his time. I especially liked his work with The Mars Volta.

I like the Chili Peppers. They're pretty good. If I were to rate my fandom of them it'd probably about 45% so I'm not exactly a huge fan but I do like their music.

Yeah I like them too!

I like their album Californication best, out of nostalgia, used to play that CD sooo much.. I think John Frusciante's solo stuff is really cool too:

My favorite song by RHCP probably is..:

I doubt Julez will ever see this but I agree with the post above that John Frusciante does have some odd but beautiful pieces on his solo albums. I own the album that Omission song is on:

I am more of a fan of the 80's RHCP. Hillel is so overlooked because of John. Not saying I do not like John, but Hillel was just amazing.

That's cool! I like the cover of Stevie Wonder:

Higher Ground

but basically I favor everything from Blood Sugar Sex Magik on! I prefer their melodic stuff with a dose of funk rather than their pure funk! :grinthumb
